Synchrotron SAXS data from solutions of Bradyzoite Pseudokinase 1 (amino acids 61-377) in 20 mM HEPES, 100 mM NaCl, pH 7.5 were collected on the 12ID-B SAXS/WAXS beam line at the Advanced Photon Source (APS), Argonne National Laboratory (Lemont, IL, USA) using a Pilatus 2M detector at a wavelength of λ = 0.09537 nm (I(s) vs s, where s = 4πsinθ/λ, and 2θ is the scattering angle). One solute concentration of 10.70 mg/ml was measured at 20°C. 30 successive 1 second frames were collected. The data were normalized to the intensity of the transmitted beam and radially averaged; the scattering of the solvent-blank was subtracted.
BPK1 is protein secreted by apicomplexan parasite Toxoplasma gondii from its dense granules, when it has infected the host cell. The BPK1 is a part of the cyst wall in the bradyzoite stage of Toxoplasma. It binds to other proteins and maintains the integrity of the bradyzoite cyst wall.
